So yesterday I took down Sonikku's sprite sheet, changed around the pages, and put up my font rip from the original Legend of Zelda. I know I'm pretty late on getting Syrus's sprite comic up, that should be up soon (but Bad Ass Bill's sprites come first because there are more and people are more likely to come here for sprites than for comics, though who knows?).

In other news, the US Presidential election is a little over a week away. I support Obama just because I don't support any of the independants *shot*. But serious, I'm tired of politics. I'm tired of attack ads. I'm tired of the diversity of the election splitting the nation in half. And I worry about the inevitable fate of either candidate if they should get elected. I don't mind the election, I just wish we didn't have to chose. If you believe one person, you must believe that the other one is lying, because they say opposite things. It SUCKS. Then there's the whole "raising taxes" shpeal, that's the same old accusation, which you should never take seriously. I just want it to be over...thank god I don't have to vote in this election, or the following election (I'll be 2 months short of 18 when it happens).

Also, I'm working on my old story, UNIVERSE. The original was actually a comic, but it sucked so I re-wrote it as a story. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it, my "editors" (really, just friends of mine, but good proofreaders all the same) say it's my best writing yet. So yeah.

Oh, one more thing! Since I don't want to have to re-format all of the updates on this page, I would like to say that next months, all updates will be re-formatted! YES!!!

EDIT: Also, I probably won't update at all until next month...I'll leave this up for people to read, but come November, it'll be archived.

Alright, so I didn't get the SSBU comic up yesterday...but today is going to be my huge content posting day. I'm going to post that font rip, along with the Super Smash Bros. Utopia sprite comic.

So that makes...2 items? Alright, not that much. But once I figure out where Bad Ass Bill's sprites go, I'll be a happy camper (the fact that I just said that scares me; am I going insane?).

Anyway, so the Halloween skin for the forum is coming along; after Halloween I'll prepare a Christmas one, with green and lights and SNOW! Overall, I think with a bit of work here and there the forum will be excellent. And also, though we're not active all the time, we hope to keep the forum as a constant project; we won't leave it alone for a year because then people will be hesitant to show up. No, we'll keep posting so that people know we're here.

Haha!! Yes!

Syrus sent me all of Super Smash Bros Utopia! Or at least what there is so far. I'll put one up every other Tuesday, starting today. Hopefully Syrus can make some more before I run out! There are six so far, so it should last long enough. Perhaps we could do a split story so I can make some as well? I don't know; but with just him and his friends in the UK to help, it probably won't go that fast. But who knows?

Anyway; so that's six solid submissions (yet to be posted, but guaranteed to eventually be). Hopefully at this rate we can have affiliation with tSR by early '09.

At the moment, I'm still working on some original Legend of Zelda rips. Font is done, I'm currently working on Items and Link himself. Tileset may come sooner. A map perhaps sooner than that. But that, plus Bad Ass Bill's submissions, puts us halfway to gamma. Okay, I wish, but still, we're getting closer. We just need to get through Alpha, and then we can worry about passing beta...

EDIT: Re-reading the comic, I'm realizing there's quite a lot of swearing. Not that I can say I'm much better, but...meh, if you're reading this site, it's probably nothing you haven't heard or said before. I won't worry about it. I will say this, though; if a true fan comic you're looking for, this is for you.

Also, per the request of a good friend of mine whose opinion I respect greatly, Fan Junk has been changed to Fan Stuff.

EDIT 2: Sorry to keep adding stuff; I'm hoping soon we can get a sort of frame set up for the updates. A set background for each part. The title will have its own, the avatar will have its own, the message will have its own, and the signature will have its own. I may actually turn my signature into a gif so I don't have to have the text in each message. With any luck that will be a reality by tonight.

Okay...I seem to be starting all of my updates the same way...

So today I'm going to be working on spriting and junk, so that we can get a grand total of three contributors. Not much, but not exactly *minimal* considering we've never really amounted to anything. I'm still working on subdirectory navbuttons, and hopefully I can post the first few comics from Syrus's "Super Smash Bros. Utopia". I'll admit, it's not a perfect comic, but he has plenty of good ideas and I hope to see more of the series soon.

Other news....hrm....well, we've got advertisements up in certain places...also, the info page will most likely have a "link to us" page in the near future, where we'll host userbars for our site. Don't hotlink, though!!! It uses up bandwidth, and though we haven't had any trouble so far, I would rather there was no trouble in general. So don't do it! Get a photobucket and host it yourself!!!

Alright...so thanks to my list of criteria for beta, I have only one thing left to do that is within my control; to post *ten or more* items. As I said, I have plenty waiting to be posted, but I'm thinking of eliminating Sonikku's simply because he's not fond of me and I'm not sure what the deal is with updated sheets. But between B.A.B.'s custom sprites and Syrus's comics, we should be able to get 10 items up. That will put us at 4.0, which leaves us only to get 2 more contributors (once I post one of my sprite sheets we'll be at three total).

Also, working on forum button, while Syrus (being he's coding staff) will put a decent skin on the forum.

Speaking of coding, I'm also making my own programming languages named for elements. Lithium will be our *high reactive* language, so named for having several different languages enabled in it. Carbon will be our nitty-gritty language, but its tag line will be, "if you build it right, you might just get a diamond!". Cheesy, I know. But hey, I'm only human.

Five days since the last update....after making some stupid but relatively harmless mistakes with MySQL, I've finally got it under control, which means, yes, eventually I will develop our own forum. Not MyBB, Not Invision; rather, TheDevHomeBB. I like it! Not yet, though, but for now I will see what I can do about Dynamic profiles which can expand into submitting items via login based webform. If that made no sense, it's just something that will let you upload files into your own little "bin" which we will check periodically.

EDIT: Also, finally fixed that itching Firefox bug with the mismatched sizes. It's small, but at least it's all the same size.

Okay, been a while since our last update...as you can tell we're working with making things transparent (started with the logo, and that went well so now we're working on the navbar). We actually made a list of ten things the website needs to have before it goes beta (right now its alpha 3.5). Just in case you care, ( a * means done):
1. Polished Logo*
2. Transparent Logo*
3. Polished Navbar*
4. Transparent Navbar*
5. All links work*
6. 10 or more items posted
7. Updates are going*
8. Perfected background*
9. 5 or more contributors
10. 5-10 unique hits a day

And now we know what we're up against.

Alright, third update on the domain...counting them is getting old...anyway, brought in a new logo, finished the navbar...now I just need to put up all that contentz...

Once I get everything posted (and by that time I may have even more to put up), I hope to talk to Dazz (webmaster of The Spriter's Resource) about affiliation. You can never have enough support, right? I mean, having a link to my site on the largest (and I daresay best organized) sprite resources on the net is a great thing. And it might help us out. I mean, I can't tell you how many times I ran through tSR's list of affiliates, bookmarked them, then ran through all of their affiliates and bookmarked them. That's subtle networking, a small-time webmaster's best friend.

Second update since the domain's been up. As you can tell (though not if you're reading this later) I'm updating the navigation buttons; yeah, the other ones were pretty clumsy. Also, we now have avatars! YEEHAHAHA!

But for serious update...I added one of Sonikku's sprite sheets, a rip of Link from Oracle of Ages and Seasons. I hope to get proper buttons for navigation as far as sub-directories go. Not much else to say, except that a new logo is also in the planning.

Yeah, so updates are back after almost a month. We're still working on putting everything together. Part of the navigation is still being worked on (can't decide where in the heirarchy custom sprites should go).

No idea where Syrus is...he hasn't been replying to my emails. But hey, he's got a life, too. So, I'll just keep working on the site. The System Requirements page should be done sometime today; stats page will be empty for the time being, but hopefully once we get decent content it will be worth our while.

BTW...though a lot of you may not care...I made my signature plain white. Purple doesn't show up well on this background, and any lighter and it would have looked...I'm not even going to say it.
