I'm back to updates! Yeah, I cleared things up in my life (for the most part). I organized and packed away that huge pile of junk in the middle of my bedroom, so now as soon as I bring my grades up, I can move my computer up to my room (and have my parents remove the password protection from it >_>) and set up that recording studio I've always wanted!
RECORDING STUDIO, YOU SAY? Indeed, for Christmas I got a preamp (a recording interface which has microphone and line-in inputs) a desktop mic-stand, and a microphone! Not only that, but I also got some awesome recording software: M-Audio Session! Yes!!!!
I am freaking out! Either way, tomorrow's my birthday, so it could either be "Hooray! Awesome! Two Christmases!" or "Awe, man, why do I have to pick a restaurant? I didn't want to go to a restaurant even BEFORE you told me I couldn't have friends over for pizza and Halo 2!"
Bleah. I would enjoy my birthday more if I didn't have to do a traditional celebration with family. But then, it would also be nice if it wasn't right before New Year's Eve (my parents have a huge party for New Year's Eve, and for that reason I CAN'T have friends over for pizza and Halo 2 because they would spill pop and my dog would try to eat their pizza while they're not paying attention; one reason I wish our house had a room that nobody cared about, with crappy carpet on which we could spill whatever the heck we want. I would be stuck steaming and vacuuming it anyway).
But yes, I'll be fifteen! One plus to my birthday. Other than that I would be quite happy ignoring my birthday.

Well, a bit more news today...first off, I got to go to this Teppanyaki restaurant called Benihana on a field trip with my japanese class. The food was great, as was the performance, and I would not mind going back. Next quarter, we'll be going to the Asian arts display at the Institute of Arts.
Also, more on the video updates; now I've had time to think it through, here's the idea: Starting in January, the last friday of the month is when I will do a video update (since Syrus is off for the holidays, I don't yet know if he will do video updates as well; but I figure I can keep it up on my own if he can't or won't). Anyway, on those days, instead of giving regular news, I will talk about a certain topic, giving my thoughts and opinions, and some insight on the truth of the topic. I will be pre-recording some, and I'm open to topic ideas so if you have an idea for a topic, email me at the usual address, mewthriii@thedevhome.net.

YEAHHH!!!!!1!1one11483!8fourteen!!! The forum is back online! After a slight mishap with the MySQL, I managed to repair the bad table through phpMyAdmin. Now we have a forum again! I would also like to toss a thank-you to the MyBB support; without their help I could have never fixed the problem.
In other news...after the holidays, I'm going to (hopefully) start doing video updates once in a while; little sessions a tad longer than normal updates in which I go into further depth about the news.

Well, busy as I've been, I finally got around to doing the simple fix for the navbar I had in mind (not mentioned in Monday's update because I hadn't thought of it yet). As you can see it works very well, and I'm glad.
Anyway...not much to say; I'm rather busy as I have to get some late schoolwork done so that I can bring my grades up (and this affects all of you because if I can't, this site goes away). I just wanted to show you guys I'm still here.

I'm trying to rebuild the navbar in a usable manner, but nothing seems to work right; there are other methods I could try, but for now I will troubleshoot with this one, as it is the best of my current ideas.
Anyway, if nothing else I do have news about the Majora's Mask fan movie; since the mask made out of the fancy Prang clay I bought is both heavy and a tad hard to work with, I decided I will make a "stunt double" for the mask. The stunt double will be made from the lightweight and easy to work with Crayola Model Magic clay. Though the results will not be quite as good as that of the Prang clay mask, it will be perfectly suitable as part of the costume. As a lighter mask it will also be easier to secure.
Then, the Prang mask will get much more effort. I can blast through a crayola mask in a few days, but this one has already taken me months. No, I'm going to keep the Prang mask safe, and only use it for the close-up scenes, like after the final battle, when (or at least in my version) Majora is destroyed, and the mask floats down to Link (again, Chroma-Key can be used to conceal the strings), Link looks at it, and turns it over in his hands. It will also be used in the conversation between the Happy Mask Salesman and Link just prior to the final credits.
Did I miss anything? I don't believe I did.

Well... I guess that its time for me to tell you... I am leaving... I'll be back at Christmas... I just hope that Mark can look after the site while I'm gone...
Mewthriii's Note: Of course I will! In fact, I'm going to postpone most of my current sprite projects so that I can focus on improving the site's design. I'm going to hopefully make the message area of the page a fixed width of 400 pixels, so that the message is always the same size (part of the screen resolution compatability process). When you get back I'm going to have a much better design in place! I mean, it will still look the same, though.

Yeah, so I haven't updated in a while. As usual, we archived last month's updates.
Anyway, I'm working on a large Super Mario Bros. Classic rip. Quite a bit of the tileset is almost done; I've ripped everything through world 2-3, and all of Bowser's castle is the same...anyway, I'm going to edit the font sheet I put up for Legend of Zelda; I'm going to add some more sprites to it, but really I'm just going to re-post it as the generic NES font, as that's what it is.
